Kara Blankenship, DVM

Dr. Kara Blankenship grew up in southern Maryland and obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to veterinary school, she spent a few years working as a veterinary technician in the D.C. area. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies and completed her clinical training at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After her many travels, she is thrilled to be back home in Maryland!

Dr. Blankenship's professional interests include urgent care, ultrasound, endocrinology, and preventative medicine. She is Fear-Free certified and incorporates low stress handling techniques with all of her patients. When she's not in the clinic, she enjoys going on walks with her golden retriever, Rose, spending time with her husband, Nate, seeing friends and family, or spending time on the water kayaking.
